The National / International Pool Lifeguard qualification is valid for 2 years after which you have 1 year to complete a Revalidation course.

Yes, the Water Safety Ireland National & International Pool Lifeguard qualification is recognised in Ireland and abroad under the International Life Saving (ILS) Federation.
No previous water safety experience is required to take part in this Pool Lifeguard course, but applicants must be strong swimmers, especially in deep water, and be able to swim continuously at least 20 lengths of a 25m pool, be able to swim head-up front crawl, sidestroke and inverted breaststroke and surface dive (head-first) to the deepest part of the pool. Applicants must also be 16 or older on the first day of the pool lifeguard course.
